Fox Business Network has rejected a television ad created by a women’s rights group that calls for pundits Lou Dobbs, Erick Erickson and Juan Williams to be fired for negative remarks they made on the network last week about women who work outside the home.
Fox Business Network is refusing to run an ad that urges the company to fire three of its most controversial commentators. The 30 second spot, produced by women’s equality group UltraViolet takes aim at Erick Erickson, Lou Dobbs and Juan Williams for their recent comments about women in the workplace.
Organizations like UltraViolet, a community fighting sexism and working to expand women’s rights, petitioned Amazon to take the shooting target off of its website. “‘The ex’ shooting target turns violence against women into a joke and promotes the idea that men should want to kill their ex-wives or ex-girlfriends,” UltraViolet’s petition reads.
The groundswell of protests that has apparently forced Reebok to end its relationship with the rapper Rick Ross has focused attention on the feminist group UltraViolet, which harnessed social media and even placed ads on Facebook in a campaign against Mr. Ross after he rapped about drugging a woman and having sex with her without her knowledge.
